Craps Strategy
Proven Strategies for Winning at the Game of Craps
Craps is a game of chance; plain and simple. While you can never legally influence the outcome of the rolls of the dice, you can rely on many proven strategies for help in hedging your bets to make the most money possible. While no one single craps strategy will ensure you win every time you go to the casino, you can use various strategies to help insure that you have the best odds of winning possible; and that if you happen to be loosing, that you loose the least amount of money possible.
The Pass Line Only Strategy
If you are playing on a craps table where the shooters are hot and everyone is raking in the cash, you might want to use a pass line only strategy. A pass line only strategy is one where you simply play the pass line and bet the maximum free odds bet behind it. While it can be a bit boring waiting for the point to be rolled, if the shooters are hitting their points one after the other, then you will be making a nice amount of money on those free odds bets.
The Don’t Pass Line Only Strategy
If you are playing on a craps table where no one seems to be able to throw the dice well, this can be a great time to invoke the don’t pass line only strategy. A don’t pass line only strategy is one where you only play the don’t pass line and bet the maximum table free odds behind it. In this strategy you will find that you get a nice payout each and every time the shooter craps out.
Basic Craps Strategy
The basic craps strategy involves simply betting on the pass, come, don’t pass, or don’t come, and placing the highest free odds bets possible. By sticking to these bets with the option of free odds betting, you bring your odds of winning as close to the house odds of winning as possible.
The Famous “Doey-Don’t” or Parity Line Bet Strategy
Craps Professional Frank Scoblete developed the parity line bet, or more commonly known as “Doey-Don’t” craps strategy back in the early 1990’s. In this strategy you take advantage of free odds betting by placing a small bet on both the pass line and the don’t pass line, and maximize your free odds bets on one of them. This strategy ensures that you win no matter the outcome of the shooter’s first roll, and you place yourself in a good place if you can place your free odds bet in the right position based on how your shooter is doing.
The “Best” Strategy of All
While there are literally an unlimited amount of craps strategies out there, it is the most important to stick to your strategy and not loose more money than you can afford to. Start your day with a set amount of money and then play your strategy. If the dice are working for you then stick to your strategy, if the dice are not going your way, then quit and try again another day. One of the most important strategies you can have when gambling is to manage your money and your self well. Through discipline and good money management skills you will be able to play the exciting game of craps for years to come.
